Respecting your privacy and security is very important to us. The Eric and Salome Estorick Foundation is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy sets out the basis upon which information is collected about you by the Eric and Salome Estorick Foundation through the use of the Estorick Collection website and any other electronic communications networks by the Eric and Salome Estorick Foundation and the use of the personal information you provide to us in person or online, via email, phone, in writing or other correspondence. For example, your personal information may be collected or provided by submissions to our website, purchases in our online shop, joining as a member and using your membership card, telephone calls to or from us, competition entries, emails, correspondence, events and event booking, fundraising or campaign responses. We do not collect or process sensitive personal data such as race ethnic origin, physical or mental health, political or philosophical views or sexual orientation. Please read the policy carefully as by providing your personal data to the Eric and Salome Estorick Foundation you will be deemed to have consented to the processing of such data.

Who we are

The Eric and Salome Estorick Foundation exists to create and maintain an environment conducive to the appreciation and understanding of modern art, particularly Italian art, through the promotion and exhibition of the Estorick Collection and by running a temporary display and education programme. The Estorick Foundation is a registered charity (no. 1046374) and a company limited by guarantee (no. 3044221), its principal place of business is at 39a Canonbury Square, London, N1 2AN.

The Estorick Foundation is primarily known to the public as the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art.

We will never sell, rent or exchange your details with any other organisation.

1. Information Collected

When you use the Estorick Collection website, we may collect personal information about you when you request a specific service using online forms and every time you email us your details. We use this information to:

  • contact you to respond to your queries (if you email us with a question, for example)
  • provide you with services (send you an email bulletin, for example)

Purchases

We collect information about you when you use our website to buy memberships, books and other items.

Each time you place an order, the Estorick Foundation will require some personal information from you - including your name, billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone number and product/service selections. This information allows us to fulfil your order and notify you of the status of the order. Details of payment card numbers and expiry dates etc. go through a secure server operated by the Estorick Foundation's Payment Service Provider and to which the Estorick Foundation does not have direct access. We may also contact you to follow up on abandoned shopping baskets or to see if there was a problem with your use of the website.

General

We collect information about you in the following ways:

  • When you join as a Member;
  • When you are purchased a gift membership by another person;
  • When you use your membership card;
  • When you make purchases on the Estorick Collection online shop;
  • When you sign up and respond to Estorick Collection emails;
  • When you provide feedback or send us an email

The personal data collected by the Estorick Foundation is evaluated periodically to determine whether it is current and still needs to be held. Subject to any legal retention requirements, e.g. VAT regulations require appropriate financial records to be retained for seven years, you may notify us if you do not wish your data to be held by the Estorick Foundation. You may also request details of your personal data held by the Estorick Foundation.

The Estorick Foundation may provide aggregate statistics about sales, web site usage and related site information for reporting, but these will not include any personally identifying information.

Disclosure

The Estorick Foundation may disclose personal information if required to do so by Law or in good faith believes it is required to do so by any order of the Courts or other competent body or agency or may do so to protect or defend the rights or property of the Estorick Foundation or to protect the personal safety of Estorick Foundation employees or the public at large.

2. Use of Cookies

Cookies are pieces of data that a website can transfer to an individual’s computer hard drive for record keeping. Cookies can make websites easier to use by storing information about your preferences on a particular website. The information may remain on your computer after the Internet session finishes and you leave the website but you can delete them using some browsers, manually or using system utilities. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect information about how our visitors use and navigate our website. We use this information to report internally and to external funders and to analyse usage of the website so that we can continually work to add new features and improve your experience of it.

The cookies collect information such as the number of visitors to the site, which pages they visited and whereabouts they came to the site from. This information is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you personally.

Third-party Cookies

During your visits to the Estorick Collection website you may be delivered cookies by third-party websites. When you visit a page with content embedded from, for example, Facebook, SoundCloud, Vimeo, Twitter, YouTube, Google Maps or Flickr, you may be presented with cookies from these websites. The Estorick Foundation does not control the dissemination of these cookies. You should check the third-party websites for more information about these.

3. Other Websites

Our website may contain links to other websites which are outside our control and are not covered by this privacy notice. If you access other sites using the links provided, the operators of these sites may collect information from you which will be used by them in accordance with their privacy policy, which may differ from ours.

4. Estorick Collection Members

Data Use

When you join as an Estorick Collection Member we collect information about you in order to:

  • send your membership benefits by post e.g. your membership welcome pack and card
  • provide you with services e.g. send you a members newsletter

We do not collect or process sensitive personal data such as race, ethnic origin, physical or mental health, political or philosophical views or sexual orientation. We will never sell, rent or exchange your details with any other organisation.

5. Job Applicants, Volunteers, Current and Former Employees

If you apply to work at the Estorick Foundation, we will use the information you supply to process your application. Personal information about unsuccessful candidates will be held for 12 months after the recruitment exercise has been completed.

Once you have taken up a paid or voluntary position with us, we will compile a file relating to your placement/employment. The information contained in this will be kept secure and will be used for purposes relevant to your placement/employment. Once your placement/employment with the Estorick Foundation has ended, we will retain the file in accordance with the requirements of our retention schedule.

6. Privacy and Data Protection

The Estorick Foundation complies with all applicable UK and EU data protection legislation in force in respect of any personal information you submit to us. The personal data you submit to us will only be used for the specified purposes indicated to you and will not be passed onto unauthorised third parties without your explicit consent.
