This catalogue was published to accompany the exhibition Pablo Echaurren: Iconoclast, held at the Estorick Collection in 2014.
As a painter, illustrator, book author and video artist, over the arc of his artistic career Pablo Echaurren has created a body of collages that sublimate his cultural and collecting passions. The bold juxtapositions present in these collages, in the spirit of iconoclasm and love for the paper world, represent the other, dark, desecrating side of bibliophilic activity.
The catalogue includes a series of these works and a contribution from Sandro Parmiggiani on the mix of high and low culture in Echaurren’s collages. An Italian translation of this essay is also included.
