This catalogue was published to accompany the exhibition Emilio Greco: 1913 – 2013, curated by Roberta Cremoncini and Federica Pirani, held at the Estorick Collection in 2013.

Less celebrated outside his native country than his contemporaries Giacomo Manzù and Marino Marini, Emilio Greco is nevertheless one of the key figures of twentieth century Italian sculpture – a fact illustrated by the awards he received throughout his career for his sensual, bulky, yet curiously delicate figures.

The catalogue includes extracts of Greco’s own writing on his work, as well as contributions from Roberta Cremoncini, Director of the Estorick Collection, Pier Luigi Mattera, Director of the Museum of Rome, Giovanni Castellucci, President of Pio Sodalizio dei Piceni, Antonella Greco, President of Archivi Emilio Greco, Federica Pirani, Superintendent of Cultural Heritage of the City of Rome, Alessandra Cannistrà, Curator at the Emilio Greco Museum, Orvieto, Fabio De Chirico, Superintendent of Historical and Artistic Heritage of Umbria, Claudio Libero Pisano and the writers Tahar Ben Jelloun and Leonardo Sciascia (all with Italian translations).
